FAQ about VoIP phone solution from Clarity Voice

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is a technology that allows you to make voice calls using an Internet connection instead of a regular POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) or basic analog phone lines.   A protocol is a set of rules used to allow orderly communication.  Thus, Voice over Internet Protocol means voice data that travels by way of the same protocols used on the internet.  VoIP isn’t a new technology – it’s been around for many years and is now reliable enough to be the primary choice for business customers due to its ability to deliver advanced call handling functions at a fraction of the cost of building an internal PBX (private branch exchange) telephone network within a company.

A cloud phone system is a Voice over IP (VoIP) based business telephone platform that is hosted by a third-party provider. Cloud phone systems offer advanced security and telephony features such as: extension dialing, auto attendants, virtual assistants and conference bridges.
